  • People looking for a job.

  • People who lost their job in the last 3 months.

  • People who want to take free Portuguese classes for residency or personal reasons.

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • People with a Residence Permit.

  • People with a Portugal Job Seeker visa.

  • People with a Portugal Visitor visa.

    Job Registration

    You can register your job search online.

    Employers can also find people for jobs.

    They help you find job offers, especially for people who speak English and Portuguese, or for people with IT skills.

    Unemployment Benefits

    If you lost your job and it wasn't your fault, you may get money to help while you look for a new job.

    You need to apply and meet certain rules.

    Portuguese Classes

    IEFP offers free Portuguese classes for people who want to learn the language.

    This can help with residency or just for personal learning. Ask for more information on registering for this during your meeting with an IEFP official.

    • You can also have a video call with IEFP to ask questions or get help.

      Online Services:
      You can access some IEFP services online with:

      • Digital Mobile Key (CMD)

      • Citizen Card
        Social Security login.

      Video Calls:
      IEFP offers video calls for:

      • Job registration.

      • Job Search help.

      To use the video call, you need to make an appointment through the website.

      • CV (for job registration)

      Proof of unemployment (if applying for unemployment benefits)

      Additional help

      If you're receiving unemployment benefits and get a new job, you may still get partial benefits.

      If you're not eligible for unemployment benefits, you might be able to get an unemployment allowance.
