WHAT IS IT?


There is a possibility to access free schoolbooks through a voucher system in Portugal. Workbooks are not included in the voucher system.




    WHO CAN APPLY?


    Everyone can apply to request to receive the schoolbooks for free through a voucher.

    Workbooks are NOT included in the voucher system but camera municipal de lisboa (CML) refunds families the value of these books.



    STEP BY STEP

    1. To request the vouchers, as the caregiver, you have to access “Encargados de educacão” on the MEGA platform ( Link attached at the start)

    2. From there you must register with your name and email address and create a password.

    3. After registering your email you will have to verify your account with your NIF number and NIF password. (OBS! caregivers NIF is to be used NOT children's NIF)

    4. Afterwards, you have access to your personal account in MEGA and be able to see your children's personal information and school manuals ( books needed).

    5. You will be able to access the books needed and will find a voucher at the end of the book. You must click on the “ver vouchers” to receive it.

    6. There are two different vouchers- new and reused. The NEW vouchers will have a QR-code and you have to pick them up in certain book shops. The reused ones you have to pick up at the school. You need to show the voucher for both.

    7. If these steps do not work, you can access the vouchers through your children's schools “Secretária”.

        FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

        Will my child receive new or reused schoolbooks?

        1. From Grade 1- Grade 4 you will always receive new school books. From Grade 5 until Grade 12 it depends.

        Do I have to return the schoolbooks?

        1. From Grade 1- Grade 4 do NOT need to return these.

        2. From Grade 5 until Grade 12 you MUST RETURN all schoolbooks in good condition!

        What happens if I return the schoolbooks in bad condition?

        If the books are received in bad condition your child might not be eligible to receive vouchers next year to the subjects where the books were not in good condition.


        Recommendation: cover the manuals.

        Can I receive workbooks for free?

        Workbooks must be paid their full price 100% at the bookstore, Camera Municipal de Lisboa offers a full refund of the workbooks IF the child is registered at a school within the municipality of lisbon.


        How to get a refund for workbooks

        1. Before you pay, you have to ask for an invoice which allows you to ask for a refund. Bookstores should know what invoice you mean.

        2. Hand in an invoice at “Sede de Agrupamento” which is the headquarters of your child's group of schools, and fill in a sheet necessary at the school. ( Link above where you can find your “sede de agrupamento”).

        3. CML will process the refund. Sometimes processes might take up to 3 months.
